Why do you think there is evil in the world?

Yes there is evil in the world. Jesus said that He will come when the whole world knows about Him.

Just be the loving person that does things (no matter how small) to help in the lives of others. when people ask you about your faith be willing to share why you have your joy and peace.

There is evil and suffering because we as human beings have two traits: we disagree on many things; and we refuse to share resources equitably.

How can we rid the world of these. We need to learn to agree more, fight less, and share resources equally. Of course these aren't going to happen in our life times.

Who cares what humanity is supposed to be doing as we clearly don't get it and never will...We should be past disagreement, have ample resources to go around, etc. yet we're so far from there it's ridiculous. As an individual neither you nor I can control the destiny of humanity as a species...all we can do is hope for the best.

Buddha asked this question and said it was because of Desire. When desire ceases, suffering ceases. I could never understand how you could not desire food after not eating for a month, though!

Christians say suffering is caused by sin, or evil. We all have an evil part which we must conquer. That is part of our purpose. Since we can't conquer evil in ourselves by ourselves, we need Jesus, who is the only one who really lived a sinless life. You take advantage of Jesus' sacrifice for us by believing in him and telling him you're sorry for your sins, and want to follow his way instead of your own way. To follow Jesus then becomes what we are supposed to be doing on earth, and how to rid the world of evil.

In my eyes, evil is the deliberate harm of another. I don't believe it can be eliminated. There are good people and there are bad people, and it will always remain this way.

Humans are simply supposed to be living their lifes, though I think we are doing it wrong. Very wrong.

We are like any other animals, but our intelligence has led to us damaging and abusing nature...

It is only for you to know the difference between good and evil and then it is up to you to make a choice in living your life.

Suffering is a product of that choice which most man have taken and inflicted others and themselves.

because we are all born into this world dead spiritualy, where satan is the prince of this fallen world, when we come to Jesus through faith Jesus raises us to life with him now we have a new master who will lead us into all truth and we are no longer a slave to this fallen world, we have a new idenity a child of God. and we still live here but we have a new master who will lead us into all truth. this world will pass away some day, but we will go from this life to our next life which is eternal life.absent from the body present with the Lord.

If you want to rid the world of evil you end the consciousness that it is housed in.

You believe you are evil, so shall you become.

people believe they are evil, so they become the evil they believe themselves to be. the only way to change is to change one's way of thinking, which most people refuse to do so.

Humans are supposed to learn and grow, but that wont happen unless monotheism dies out.

in this world there will always be the good the bad and the evil. that's sounds so cliche. lol
