Looks like pretty much all the responses so far aren't doing much to disconfirm the stereotype of parochial Americans who couldn't be bothered to look beyond their own shores. That is sad. It might not be your country, but there is far more to the world than is dreamed of by most of your news coverage. And if there were anywhere in the world you might be interested in, then Australia would be one of the places, as it is a good barometer of what your friends think of you. Australia has been the only country to join in all of the wars of the US in the 20thC. Political developments in Australia can give an insight into how you are perceived even amongst those with close ties and by longstanding allies. You might like to wake up to this.

Don't bother. Americans ARE oblivious to the rest of the world, they know nothing about any other country.

i'm Australian and I'm still shocked how sudden this has happened. The public didn't really have a say, so we'll see if we truly are ready for a female prime minister when comes election.

No opinion. I know nothing about her. Australia politics is buried and ignored by US media.

I think it's sad to see that your country is also obsessed with identity politics.

Is she right for the job or does she have the right genitalia?
