YOU got an attitude because your superior told you to pick up toys while you were in the employ of a school? That was so mature of you. I am sure the kids learned a lot.
When you work for someone, ANYONE, and they ask you to help out, it would be to your advantage to do it without arguing. Most school jobs do not spell out precise job descriptions, so picking up toys may be included in the generic job description under other duties.
Think of the reasons you got angry. Was it about the toys or was it more than that? If it was more, then you may want to ask to speak to her 1:1 and work things out. It is no fun for anyone to work in an environment where people are picking at each other. And it certainly doesn't teach the kids anything worthwhile.
