is there a normal digital camera with a charger rather than batteries?

i really want a digital camera, but would want one with a charger rather than batteries as batteries dont last very long in cameras and are quite expensive to buy. i just wondered if there was a decent one out there and where i could buy it?

thanks.

Guess what? All cameras use batteries. Most use propriety rechargeable batteries that need a unique charger. The better batteries need to be taken off the camera then inserted into the charger which plugs directly to the wall.

Others use disposable AA or AAA batteries. If the camera uses disposables, you should at least use alkalines. The best is Energizer Lithium as it lasts longer than all the rest. You can also use rechargeable AA or AAA batteries but make sure the rating is at least 2100mAh for longer lasting power. Of course you will use a charger to recharge rechargeable AAs or AAAs.

So.. you're asking for a camera that has a charger but no batteries? There would be nothing to charge then. But that's not possible - cameras are electronics. All electronics use batteries (hence the base word "electric").

I think what you're looking for is a camera that uses lithium-ion batteries, which last longer than regular AA batteries, although they're are a bit more expensive. There are a lot of cameras that use this type of battery nowadays, so you'd better start researching now - all you need to do is find a camera you like, and check its specs to see if it uses lithium-ion batteries. I could make a suggestion but you barely included any details as to what type of camera you want.. not even a budget.

That sounds excessive. Chargers can get quite warm, but too hot to touch sounds like trouble brewing. Be certain that you are charging the proper batteries for your charger. Trying to charge the wrong batteries -- say nickel-cadmium batteries in a charger designed only for nickel-hydride batteries -- can cause overheating, even fire. Same goes for trying to recharge ordinary alkaline batteries. I've seen alkaline AA batteries melted right into a charger meant for nickel-hydride batteries.

I know you are trying to make life easier for yourself, and frankly I don't blame you. However answering questions on this forum has brought many duplicate questions. Among the duplicates are "I have lost my charger, what do I do?" The answer is call the manufacturer and order a new one. Now what are you supposed to do while waiting for a new charger? That's why I like AA rechargeable batteries. AA rechargeable batteries are available most everywhere. And every place I have seen that sells AA rechargeable batteries also sell chargers for the AA's.

Another thought is that as batteries improve you can easly replace them with newer model batteries.

Google it. Every store with electronics will sell many digital cameras with a charger vs batteries. In fact 90% of digital cameras come with chargers now days.

Funny you should ask that. Today, I am going to buy a camera. This one. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Nikon+-+Coolpix+S3000+... i used to have th eold version with AA batteries, and apperantly this one is nothing but better, also with a rechargeable battery.

Almost any camera can use rechargeable batteries.

Even one that uses AA batteries...

    http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-ZE-SC2900-Charger-290...

Once you have the batteries and a charger it costs just a few cents to recharge them.

You can recharge batteries 500-1000 times before they start to use their power holding abilities and need replacing.

I can recommend the Canon IXUS 85 IS. I think there's a 95IS now. I has a Lithium-ion battery that seems to last very well between charges. Takes great photos and has great build quality.
