Is it possible for President Obama to have to run against a challenger from a Democrat?

or must he run unopposed for the second term.

    It IS possible that his party turns against him and votes for another party member. But most often than not, the presidents party will stay behind the president because it's easier to win over all. The more democrat candidates, the fewer votes for each. But with 1 candidate, they get all the votes and hopefully your party wins.

    Absolutely possible. With all the infighting within his own party and being attacked by his own party, it is highly likely.

    The few moderates that are able to avoid being consumed by the Progressives are already distancing themselves from him and will more than likely challenge him.
