Which is more socially acceptable to call a homosexual?
I feel separating "gay" and "lesbian" is a tad bit of an excuse for bias and a gap between homosexuals in general. So which do you prefer: Gay, lesbian or homosexual?

I don't particularly enjoy being labelled at all (: but when referring to my sexuality, which I like to do as little as possible, I would identify myself as gay, despite being a lesbian. It's so much simpler, sounds inoffensive, and makes you think of when it used to be the word for happy! :D

It depends on the context - homosexual is a more formal term with no way of separating between male and female. Gay and lesbian is informal and helps to distinguish between males and female. I don't believe 'gay and lesbian' is an excuse for bias between the sexes I think this is perfectly acceptable.

There's no one answer to this question. Any label will work for some and not for others, Gay is a general term that is accepted by most men and women. Some women don't like the word lesbian, but others don't mind. "Homosexual" is outdated. Many younger people have less limiting labels, such as queer, pansexual. polyamorous, etc. I am in my 30's and identify as lesbian. I'll answer to gay also.

I think the term lesbian and gay are both socially acceptable. I prefer being called Gay though.

Why?
Do you see people actually calling people 'straight' around? They only use straight to distinguish from the 'homosexuals'.
Though if I had to choose I would choose (as a guy) homosexual. Because 'gay' can sometimes mean happy, and that can get confusing.

I prefer gay for all of us, apart from trans people. In my circle of friends almost all the homosexuals (men and women) call themselves gay. Some of the ladies call themselves dykes but that's quite unusual.

i think of as long as people don't get harm and do issues in inner maximum, in spite of if or not an pastime or life-type is socially ideal would not somewhat count quantity. If issues at the instant are not saved so inner maximum, i think of the social acceptability subject might replace counting on what way of life or social circle we are speaking approximately. i don't think of gays might have lots of a subject in my circle of acquaintances working example, as long as they did not hit on the quickly people. an identical form of element ought to be mentioned some spankophile. If this individual grew to become into stressful people too lots who weren't into it, then they might get indignant or companions might get jealous and so forth. yet dont subject, in basic terms come over to my place and that i can spank your bare backside crimson in a maximum relaxing yet socially ideal way.

I believe hmosexual is more well.
because honestly;
when most people say gay , they mean it as an insult .
so even if they aren't insulting them ,
if a gay person hears themselves being called gay they get insulted , SOMETIMES .
so which sounds better;
"He's homosexual"
or ,
"he's gay"
because in modern society;
saying , "he's gay" is an insult .

Gay, for both men and women. Homosexual sounds too clinical, and almost insulting. Lesbian is practically synonymous with porn / sexual titillation these days and I hate it.
