AOL has been an Internet Service Provider since before Yahoo and Google ever existed.... since 1989.
Yahoo DID team up with SBC/AT&T and DOES provide internet service in limited areas... http://dsl.sbc.yahoo.com/
Google doesn't provide internet service, because frankly, at this point, there's not much money in it.
Now, what does this have to do with a linksys router and your laptop? Why not just call your local cable company and sign up for their Broadband service?
