Christians, please explain this verse? Luke 19:27?
Theists, please explain this verse? Luke 19:27?
Someone posted this on YA. I looked this up, thinking it was a joke. IT IS NOT.
New Testament Book of Luke Chapter 19 Verse 27 it is written: "But those enemies of mine who do did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me."
~JESUS C.! to his disciples
Hey, no need to be mean. I don't own a Bible, so I thought I would ask. I wouldn't know if it was out of context somehow. It is a QUESTION

This parable is like that of the talents, Matthew 25. Those that are called to Christ, he furnishes with gifts needful for their business; and from those to whom he gives power, he expects service. The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal, 1Corinthians 12:7. And as every one has received the gift, so let him minister the same, 1Peter 4:10. The account required, resembles that in the parable of the talents; and the punishment of the avowed enemies of Christ, as well as of false professors, is shown. The principal difference is, that the pound given to each seems to point out the gift of the gospel, which is the same to all who hear it; but the talents, distributed more or less, seem to mean that God gives different capacities and advantages to men, by which this one gift of the gospel may be differently improved. Wow. Nothing like taking a verse out of context!!
Jesus is telling a story here about a nobleman, and it is the nobleman that says this to his servants! Jesus is telling the story to His disciples!
Not even a nice try, dear. Geez!
If you don't have a Bible, how did you look it up? You can even go online and read the Bible, and we know you have access to the internet. I think you are just trying to weasle out of what you just posted because you have nothing to back it up with. Go online and read the Word for yourself. Just picking out one verse and trying to make a "point" with it doesn't work with the Word of God. You must know that you are in a forum of people who actually do know the Word of God and if you don't, you are in a bad position! God bless

Can't quite get CONTEXT into your head huh?
This verse is PART of the entire parable that Jesus is speaking about. It is NOT a command! It is part of a story starting at Luke 19:11ff.
Of course, if one is to ignorant to understand biblical genre, then why are even opening up the book in the first place?

People think he's coming back to party or something but the bible clearly show's that he's coming back to make war with the nations that did all the wrong to the Hebrew's .
And then his ever lasting kingdom will be here according to scriptures

Wow, trying to make it look like Jesus said this to his followers when it is nothing more then Jesus telling one of his parables, teaching a lesson. Wow, I would want to be nowhere near to you when Armageddon starts. Keep looking up for that consuming fire from heaven with your name on it.
