Maruti BALENO or Mitsubishi LANCER ?

Mitsubishi Lancer is better. Bigger than Baleno, runs on diesel (cheaper to run), ideal for long distances thus very suitable for rent/taxi. You will get better rent owing to bigger size and more profitable as it runs on diesel. Yes you can get an old model within your budget.

Lancer is a premium car, whereas Baleno is a mid size sedean. The rent on a taxi would be more with a Lancer. Generally, you would not get an old Lancer at that price, because they are used for rallying by motor enthusiasts who offer a higher price.

I would suggest you to go for Mitsubishi Lancer. If your objective is to use it for a taxi service, than Lancer os a very good option. I myself own a taxi service in Delhi. You better go for none of these two... There are host of other sedans which comfortably meet your needs. You can go for Ford Ikon diesel. It is an excellent car (both comfort and looks wise). As Ikon has been in the market for more than a decade now, you are likely to get one for much lower price. You may get one even at a price less than 2 lacs. All the best!
