It will do the lower version of "HD".... 720p.
There are two resolutions for Hi Def, one is 1280 X 720 (that is the lower of the two) and there is also 1920 X 1080, which is the highest "HD" available right now. That monitor has a max resolution of 1280 x 1024, and as long as the correct monitor driver is installed in Windows, can accept and display a 1280 X 720 wide-screen HD signal. It is not, however, a "widescreen" monitor, and the image might look squished like an old western. There might be a function on the monitor to display widescreen resolutions in "letterbox" format, though, but I doubt it.
Unless you are getting an amazing deal on that monitor, you should look for a true full HD monitor, get one that can support 1920 x 1080 (1080p), and that will future-proof your purchase, as there probably won't be anything much higher in TV standards for the next decade or so. Those 1080p monitors are not very expensive, usually around 150 bucks U.S. dollars and up. I got a decent LG 1080p 22" monitor last Christmas for 180 with free shipping from Newegg.com.

no it is not, however HD is defined by Television standards so it shouldnt matter on a monitor, if you look on google it gives you all the specs, however it DOES support basic HD output from your computer.
