Because unfortunately, people are not content to have their delusions in peace. They want to push their Imaginary Being at us. This is not just directly so (I've actually had some fun times with Mormons/JWs knocking on my door, and I think I got good questions in their minds), but they try to outlaw things (abortion, homosexuality, sex between consenting adults, wearing revealing clothing, hell even selling beer on Sunday) because their Imaginary Friend says to. Then they want to fight each other to prove that their Imaginary Friend can kick the other guy's Imaginary Friend's ***. It would be comical if we didn't get caught in the crossfire.

But we do. So you betcha we try to promote thinking and reason and minimize the amount of delusion out there.

Freedom of speech. There is no proof, stop telling us there is and we'll stop asking for it. Constantly condemning people to hell is busting on someone, I don't hear Atheist condemning anyone anywhere. You are very immature if you think that disagreeing with someone is antagonising them, you have to accept not everyone in the world agrees with you. I have no chips on my shoulder - I have some in my belly though, I just ate a bag.

I come here because it's a way to express my disbelief to other non-believers and to answer questions from believers targeted towards non-believers when I feel like it. I don't do it regularly...it just feels good to use Y!A to speak my opinions once in awhile and somewhere where I'm already registered.

Plus, why can't you come here if you disbelieve? I'm not a veteran, does that mean I can't talk to veterans? I'm an American, does that mean I can't talk to Europeans? Just because you aren't a part of something doesn't mean it's off limits. Maybe atheists come here to argue against theism like theists come here to argue against atheism.

Because religious people are so misinformed, not just about atheists, but also about each other. I'm here to set the record straight. Besides, when so many questions begin with "atheist" it's like an invitation. It would be impolite to refuse.

Well, I usually end up defending my atheism, and trying to explain scientific concepts.

Atheism is the lack of belief in deities. It does not mean I am not spiritual or religious. There are religious atheists and there are spiritual atheists.

Even so, one doesn't even have to be religious or spiritual to discuss religion and spirituality. This should be obvious.

My name isn't Atheist. And R&S also deals with the lack of R&S. And were are not all trolls, what about the christians who constantly ask questions like "ATHEIST, u are ebil and are going to HELL because u no believe in teh bible" and etc. Don't stereotype, it makes you look stupid.
