Christians, does God want our focus on ..............?
what we are being saved from (hell), or on what we are being save to (His Kingdom)?
Why does it matter what we focus on?
Please do share your insights.
Love, grace, joy....2 all
Samantha - If you are focusing on Him, you will be focusing on one of these.....the question is, which one.
Gerry - You became a citizen of Heaven when you were born-again. Escaping out of here to get to heaven isn't the focus referred to by the question.
Absolutely, Kristen! :)

My feeling is that we're given opportunities and means to achieve - that God wants us with Him in much the same way we want our kids with us, happy and healthy. Christ emphasizes and explains that we should *live* loving, moral lives. So it's my feeling the focus should be on fulfilling that here, in the lives we were given, "on earth as it is in Heaven".

Jesus is the way, we shouldn't do all the things the bible commands out of fear of hell or wanting of heaven bro, first you got to love jesus and then all the other stuff will fall in too place, read your bible, that is Crucial though, if you don't do anything else read your bible, its important
and why does it matter? lets say you have a spouse right and you get them a gift
do you think they would appreciate it better because you were afraid they would leave you so the gift is a way of keeping them, or that you gave them the gift in order to have sex with them or something like that, or you gave them the gift out of nothing but love and no other reason
hope my responds helps.

I believe my focus should be on running the race -- not away from hell, but toward His Kingdom. To me, it does matter what I focus on. I want to live my life in such a way that I hear Him say "Well done, good and faithful servant".
