is 16 too old to go the child's doctor?

ok i smashed my finger between the dock and boat 2 weeks ago and it still hurts to bend it and when i take the splint thing off it swells back up. but my mom wont take me to the doctor. im 16. my dad is comin into town this weekend and he's gonna take me to the doctor. the only doctor ive had is some childs doctor. and i have to find out if im too old to go to my doctor. do i need to find a new one?

    There is no age limit for going to any doctor, but at 16 you SHOULD being going to a General Practioner (GP) or other family doctor. At 16 you are already having problems that pediatricians don't get trained on.

    you can see a pediatrician until age 18. they are, after all, just doctors.
