Our dog is great but arresively barks at people when in the car!?
We have a male fixed boxer that will be two in Sept.
He barks arresively when he is in the car - when people walk near the car.
And today My hubby and kids and I were out and they droped my off at work and then after I was out of hte car - I was saying bye to everyone and even our doggie...And he arresively barked at me!!
This is only in the car! What should we do? How?
We've had him since he was a pup - He is a great dog other than this.
At home he wonders the yard with us and is loving. He will sit next to one of us or the front steps when someone walks by. Even other people walking with dogs. He plays with our neighbors dogs well. With our friends dogs fine...Goes to the dog park is fine. Everything is great other than how he acts around ppl when he is in the car. He has never bitten anyone..But like I say He has teeth, So thats always a possiblilty IMO. When in the car and he does get like that we do make sure his window is rolled up enough just incase so he cant get his head out at anyone.
i LOVE victoria...And think I say the show with the three great danes. Didnt get it to see it all though! I should try an dfind that episode online.
I dont get the curtain thing though so maybe If I find the show it will help.

I saw this on It's me or the dog.
What Victoria did, she basically placed a curtain around all the windows of the owner's car, and whenever they were quiet, they were allowed to see when in front, but whenever they barked she'd shut the curtain again, until they were quiet, when they quieted down, she'd allow them to see outside.
And by they I meant the dog, the owner had three out of control great danes.

Okay so my dog always barked at people walking around outside and when we had a trainer over he taught us this thing, its reallllyyy weird to do but try it, it really worked for my dog. So in like kinda a lower voice, because dogs listen more to lower voices thatys why they are more likely to pay attention to guys, and like growl bahhh, like a sheep but growling. lol its really awk when u do it but you have to say it like you mean it! and then when he stops barking ammediatly say ´good boy!´ in a girly higher tone. keep it up if he starts agian. he will learn.
