By law, what vaccinations are mandatory for my dogs in Minnesota?

My dogs are pee pad trained. We groom them at home. They are never around other dogs unless we pass them on our walks, which we walk about 4 times per week. We never board them.

Update:

What vaccinations would you suggest? I have a Maltese (10lb) and a Shih-tzu (12lb). They are both 5 years old.

only one by law is rabies, however it is still easy to contract something just walking around the block, kennel cough is an airborne virus, parvo is spread by infected dog feces all it takes is from them or you to walk over an area that the infected fecal matter was on to pick up. hepatitis is caught by inhaling or eating the virus that is present in the urine, nasal and eye secretions of other infected dogs. It really is better to try to prevent it with the vaccine, which there are now a lot of vets doing them every three years, that would be around $20 every three years.

you should talk to your vet some areas have a higher occurrence of some diseases than others, but at least the core vaccines which is distempter, hepatitis, parvo, and para-influenza this link may help you http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+2115&a...

The owner of the dog needs to know how to "operate" the dog, same way you can get into a car that's in perfect running order but if you don't know how to drive you won't have much luck making the car go anywhere. If the owner doesn't know how to maintain the training, the dog will soon become untrained again. Read more here https://tr.im/ompaT

People seem to think that once a dog is trained, that's it. Not true. You must reinforce the dog's training every single day in some way. It's best if the owner and the dog go together to get trained. As a professional trainer once said to me "We can train any dog in 2 days. It takes longer to train the owners

rabies.. is required. Its a deadly disease.. why would you even want to risk that?

You should talk to your vet about what other vaccines your dogs should get.. they go on walks, they are still exposed to disease.
