My Grandmother's Beagle Has A Tattoo on Its Ear?
My grandmother fosters dogs and one came to her with "CAE CEK" on its ear. Does anyone know what it could possibly be/mean? Any information would be great.
Ah. My grandma agrees with you guys. :] Thank you!<3

it means the tattooed dog is a registered purebred from a licenced breeder. contact your kennel union or beagle breeders association, supply them with the tattoo info, and they will be able to refer you back to the original breeder.

It could be from her previous owner. Some breeders tattoo their dogs for identification purposes. If your grandmother is fostering for a shelter, it could be a form of identification used by the shelter to keep track of the dogs. More than likely, it is solely for identification purposes so that the dog can be located within the shelter's adoption/fostering system or if the dog ever gets lost.

Well, if the dog is a foster dog, it could be the initials of the person/people who had the dog previously (kinda like what you put on trees, only as a tattoo on your dog) or it could be the initials of the breeder (like a brand of sorts).
