Icon enlargement on wakeup?
Occasionally when I wake my computer from the sleep mode, the icons & everything else on the screen are about 30% larger than when I put it to sleep. A restart typically takes care of this, but I was wondering what the underlying cause was......

Without knowing what OS and hardware
your using, there's not much to go on
Steve. My first guess is that software
in charge of wake-up changed screen
settings to lower resolution on wake. It's
odd that this happens occasionally.
Some experiments in windows:
1. To reset resolution without restart:
path: start/control panel/double click display/
click settings tab/select new screen resolution/ok
2. Change screensaver:
path: start/control panel/double click display/click screen saver tab/
set screen saver to (none)
3. Enter bios power management.
4. path: start/control panel/power icon
Fish around for any resolution option that
has been enabled on wake-up. Uncheck box.
5. Poke around using msconfig.exe or regedit.exe
Really difficult unless you're a computer geek!
A lot of complaints about this problem, Steve.

Try changing user resolution setting. If that doesn't work, try updating the video driver.
