Fancy goldfish stocking (55 gallon tank)?

I am planning on getting five fancy goldfish for my 55 gallon tank. It will have 1 inch of medium gravel and five long artificial plants for the back of the tank.

I am wondering what kind of filtration would work best for this tank. I breed angels so I have a LOT of filters sitting around. I was going to use one or two ATI Hydro IV sponge filters (both rated for 80 gallons each) and then adding a whisper 60 HOB filter. So all together, 220 gallons of filtration for a 55 gallon tank if I use both sponge filters. The filters are all in the tank now so I might just leave it.

I am also planning on doing two 50% water changes every three days. So 100% water change in a six day period.

Would this work? I am not set on five, I would obviously be willing to get less.

Also, I am in love with basically all of the fancies but would love some suggestions on what you guys love.

Update:

I would continue the w/c schedule as I am doing now. I do between a 30-50% wc every three days on all of my tanks. I have a small fish room going now lol

There would be a sponge filter on each side of the tank in the back corner with the HOB filter near the center of the tank. I don't think there would be any whirlpool effect.

My favorite fancy is the black moor, but 5 would be two big for a 55 gallon. I'd get two - maybe three if you are willing to be as diligent with water changes and filtration as you plan to be. No more than that, though, they just get too big and are as messy as any other goldfish.

    Good luck.

i think thats a bit too much filtration especially if you are doing water changes too early and the filter might suck the fish up no? or try to suck it in like whirl pools maybe just settle on 1-2 80 gallon filters after all its a 55 gallon tank. you wont need that much if your doing 50% water changes 3 days. and yes i think you should get less maybe 2-3 they can get pretty big after all.
