It's less likely, but certainly possible.

It is possible, but not likely. A woman generally has a 3 day window each cycle in which she can get pregnant. Day 1 of your cycle is the first day of your period. Usually somewhere around day 14 (this is an average, so it does vary) your body will release an egg and then for the next 3-4 days you can get pregnant. Now, there can be all kinds of variations and fluctuations in this process and it has happened that a woman has gotten pregnant toward the beginning of her cycle.

You really should read a book called "Taking charge of your fertility". A lot of women read it when they are trying to get pregnant, but it also is an invaluable resource in learning how to track what your body is doing and why.

According to most OBGYNs, it is HIGHLY unlikely, but depending on your cycle and when in your cycle you ovulate (because that can be different from one girl to another), it certainly can happen. I would test a few days before you expect your next period, and again a few days after its expected arrival if it is late. Some Planned Parenthoods offer blood pregnancy testing, which I'm sure you could inquire about if you are that concerned.

    Good luck!

When you're on your period your body is getting rid of the unfertilized egg and the endometrium (uterus lining). So your body is getting rid of that egg and preparing to send other eggs out of your ovaries. Yes, it is possible that you could get pregnant on your period, but like stated before it isnt as likely as when your off your period.

    Good Luck!

Yup. You can get pregnant at any time.

If you feel you are adult enough to be having sex, then act like an adult and get yourself on the pill. That way you will be in control of your body, your sexuality, and your future.

Little reminder: No matter WHEN you have sex, you can ALWAYS get pregnant. Always, always, always.

If you miss your period, go take a test IMMEDIATELY.
