What is the best company to get broadband from (UK)?
I'm not that bothered about having a phone line, and don't have or want Sky TV. Can you recommend a brand that is cheap and reliable?

Well you have three choices. Cable, ADSL or mobile broadband.
If you do not live in a Virgin cabled street then you must have a phone line for ADSL broadband.
Choices are here.

If you definitely don't want a phone line then that only leaves you with mobile broadband.
These are the Contract ones.

And these are the Pay as You Go.

I agree with Jackoboy Virgin media...its the only company tht use Fibre optics.....you can't get any quicker or better than that out there.
Admittingly Talk Talk are good value, my mum and dad pays £26 a month for internet and phone(including line rental) and thats including anytime calls to any landline in the uk.There is no extra billing unless you phone mobiles, but the internet service can be slow at times, you can have Talk Talk through a BT phone socket.

Talk Talk by carphone warehouse. Firstly I have to admit when you install it it can be a pain but after that is pretty good. I can watch You-Tube videos very quickly in the 480 mode and 720p HD loads fairly quick although you may want to wait and come back to it.
Playing games on-line is fine, but I use my wired; not wireless.

Virgin Media or some other fibre-optic company.
Flawless internet up to 20MB through high-speed consistent fibre optic cable.
