What do you think of the new July 1, 2010 tanning tax?

How many Afro-Americans will be paying the 10% tax on tanning parlors?

Why isn't there also tax on skin bleaching parlors ??

Update:

Vitamin D is created by sunlight on the skin, a healthy results. Timers keep people from getting sunburned in a tanning booth. Sunning on the beach is FAR more dangerous, are they going to now tax suntan lotions since they are related to sun tanning at the beach? And skin bleaching uses chemicals that are no doubt harmful to the skin.

Is the Obama administration and the whacko liberal establishment trying to control ever aspect of your life? is this the hope and change that Obama supporters expected?

Next time, we need to look at a candidate's resume, which for Obama would have been mostly a blank sheet of paper, much like his nominee Kagan, never a judge, hardly a lawyer, and obviously a liberal progressive.

Taxes on tanning parlors is a manifestation of the liberal sickness which is "we know best, do as we say, and shut up" -- it's time to send them all packing.

A tanning parlor tax is stupid and I think it's founded on a racist view of those who use the service.

Update 2:

For the person who thinks skin bleaching isn't dangerous -- there are numerous articles about the dangers. Here's one

It is ok to tax cigarettes because they are bad for your health but not tanning parlors? If it isn't appropriate for one then it isn't appropriate for the other.

The time may come on the skin bleaching parlors--skin bleaching ruined Micheal Jackson's looks.

I do not know of any Afro-American that goes to a tanning parlor.

Why aren't we much more concerned that the federal government, in all its wisdom, has once again reached out with over-sweeping authority and damaged a business all in the name of its self-proclaimed health measures to help keep us healthy?

The problem is not that some group will or will not use this service more than the other, it is that the government decided to back-stab this industry all in the so-called name of health.

What's next? Who knows? How would like it if you opened a business last year just to find out that this burden would be unduly placed on you this year?

This is just one more example of a government gone crazy with power. They want all these social programs so they are inventing more ways to tax us. Funny, they talk about caring about the poor, and the working class but all they do is find ways to make it harder to succeed and prosper.

Our government is sick with power and our money.
