how much is my dog worth?

I have to sell my shih-tzu dog.. She's a 1 year old female and not spayed.. She's up to date with all of her shots and I have all of her documentation and papers of like her shots and stuff.. How much should I sell her for? I dont want to sell her for too much cause i dont want to rip people off but i dont want to be ripped off either.. Help please !

**dont tell me not to sell her**

Update:

i want to worry about a price first. and i will definitely make sure she finds a good home.. and im not giving her away for free

If she has AKC papers (meaning that she's a registered purebred) and all of the above is true, the only other question would be in what area you are trying to sell her? Just generally, I would say about $175 - $225 if she's registered.

  • Get her spayed then ask for 1/2 - 3/4 of the cost of that.

i am not sure how you can put a price on a dog you love, it would rip my heart out to have to give up any of my dogs, my objective would be to find someone who would love them and care for them as i do...money would not be relevant. I am sad about this question, and sadder for you that you needed to post such a question...most of all, I am sad for the poor dog that is now reduced to a dollar amount. I wish people were as nice as dogs.

i think you should not be worrying about how much your dog is worth, i would be worrying about the backyard breeder who is going to snap up your unspayed female and use her as a puppy making machine until she dies ... why not focus on finding a good home and not making money off the poor dog ... ripped off !!! the dog got ripped off by not finding a forever home ... and you are worried about money !?!?!

  • Typically you ask a re-homing fee equivalent of what rescues and shelters charge, which is around $100.

i think you must show a picture of your dog.

the appearance is the thing that matters to the most future-dog-owners . [i think, lol]

a good dog should be sold at least 40-60 euro.

How bout you just let someone who is willing to love the animal take them for free.

shouldn't you be more worried about finding her a good home instead

    no more than $100
