What does verse 10 mean to you in this portion of scripture?
1Corinthians 13:8-10
(8) Love never fails. But prophecy will pass away. Speaking in languages that had not been known before will end. And knowledge will pass away.
(9) What we know now is not complete. What we prophesy now is not perfect.
(10) But when what is perfect comes, the things that are not perfect will pass away.
Please share your insights....and thank you to all who answer.
I guess I have understood this verse a little differently than most. I have understood,"when that which is perfect has come," to be Jesus when He returns. Being physically present with us, there will no longer be a need for God's communications to come through prophesies, tongues, and knowledge given to men (which made them subject to error). We will hear and speak with Jesus directly.
Thanks to all of you, I appreciate all the different perspectives. :)

It's said of Benedictines that they "think/pray in centuries". An esoteric answer, maybe, but it sums it up for me.

Scripturally, there is a time when Jesus will return and we will meet him in the air, and at that time, the old things will past away, and the new system of things will begin immediately after Jesus defeats Satan, Death, and all that denies God Almighty!
Some references could be I Thess 4: 13-18, II Thess 2: 1-17, Revelation 20: 1-15, Revelation 21: 1-27, and Revelation 22: 1-21
Also, as you live life, remember Matthew 4:4 and II Timothy 3: 14-17
Be encouraged and thank you for asking!

We all know in part & prophesy in part. And in the future, then we know fully and understand Prophesy.
What is partial is made full. We look through a dim glass & can't see eternal clearly. But in the Resurrection we will know Him as He fully knows us.
Tongues are broken out into different languages. The perfection is when there is one language, like was given to the 1st Adam before the fall. This language was divided at the Tower of Babel.
So basically it is what is partial will be made complete.
Faith, hope & love is eternal. The greatest of these is LOVE.

(8) Love will prevail and go into eternity, everything else will happen, but pass away as we die.
(9) What we know now is incomplete, and only enough for our human brains. We will know the balance fully once we pass into eternity (hopefully for most to enjoy the love in (8)).
(10) In the end, as we pass into eternity, everything else known here will simply become unimportant and will disappear.
The summary is: have faith, keep your love for God, and believe someday when we pass on, we will know and enjoy the whole picture. Our love for Him (and for each other) will take us there! Isn't this a wonderful recipe for our 21 century?

1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
that which is perfect is being translated into a eternal body and going to be with god
our understanding on earth is limited by our finite minds
when we leave this world we will know everything that is the perfect to come
our physical body is done away and so are all our physical limitations

Ezekial 52 or so talks about the upcoming kingdom. THe third temple. Jesus physically sitting in the throne of David. The time after satan is cast into the lake of fire. Jeremiah 31 talks about the covenant being written on our hearts that time, instead of a slab of stone

Moin Khan, current translations are full of errors and contradictions. I will not argue that. However, when you study it in the Greek and Hebrew and understand the culture, the contradictions fall to the way side.
Also, it's no news that Jesus was not born on December 25. Most Christians know this. Scripture never claims he was. It's just the day that was established as the day for Christians to celebrate his birth. He actually was most likely born in September, but we don't know for sure.

When the Lord Jesus comes back, the imperfect system
of the world - government by sinful man - will be replaced
by the perfect and just rule of our loving Lord Jesus Christ.

Whatever it may be but there are 101 Clear Contradictions in the Bible r in http://www.sultan.org/
Muslims r real Christians because they follow Jesus more than false Christians. Christian god Jesus is not fulfilling the definition of Almighty. Do u know jesus was born in summer (25th of 12th month of lunar calender) not in winter (MS Encarta Encyclopedia 2006).
