This site answers the question real well. I'm glad I looked, because I would only have had a partial answer of a nutrient deficiency.

if their eating their owen eggs is because not enogh space and not enogh vitamins like the type they get when they eat grass or pek the grown for bugs and worms what you need to do is get some pots with grass and cycle the posts so they eat one at a time wile the other pots are outside growing or just let them out and eat in the day and in the night they will go back to their coops all by their selfs especially when they know thats the only place to drink water so they have to go back to their coops for those things hope this works ive raised chickens for 5 yrs feel free to ask more questions and i will try to answer them

It is almost impossible to stop once started and the others will get a taste and also eat eggs. I have put a curtain over the nest entrance to darken it and they will not readily see the eggs. The best thing to do is separate them and find the one egg eater and have stewed chicken with dumplings.

as far as i know your suppose to take the egg while the hen is sleeping. And most lay once a day.

    So wake up earlier.
