The Turks also murdered millions of Armenians in the Armenian Genocide.

Turkey only toyed with joining Bush's willing coalition of nitwits if they could be guaranteed the task of "securing" northern Iraq (aka exterminating the Kurds). Turkey will never allow even a quasi Kurdish state on its border.
But, then, Syrian and Iran want the Kurds gone as well. So, basically, everyone in the region is looking for an excuse to abuse the Kurds.

'Kurds have no friends' - a saying.
Their lands are in four countries - Iraq & Turkey mostly as well as Syria & Iran. They need to have their homeland carved out of these countries, if only to stop them being massacred by everyone around.
