As much as I like Iranians ...they are very friendly and highly educated here.

I do not see how a compromise can be reached.

The Iranian folks I talk to absolutely hate the Iranian government and do not go around preaching muslim this and muslim that. They feel FREE. And dress like everybody else.

But they all hate their governments......hence why they are here. Am in Canada.

Iranian people are delightful, funny, and usually extremely knowledgeable and really really nice people in my experience. They are very human, very caring...I really like them !!

But the country and government? that is another story.. I do not think Iran is that powerful on the global market anyway.

Compromise ? well why not.. That is what the US is doing with Saudi Arabia anyway !

You are right maybe that the region is really different, but there should be no different with Iraq or Afghanistan. The hardest part of going to war is about the whole world. What I mean is to get the most approval from other countries, UN approval in particular.

Like any other war. If you want to win the fastest way is, to give everything that you got and never look back what might be the outcome of the war, But doing so will be a mass casualty to innocent people. Keep in mind also that a lot of unhappy people will help to topple the old regime (referring to what happened last election when so many people was jailed due to massive demonstration). I believed that if there's a war they will help to topple the regime, which in turn makes it easy to go to war with the country.

Just a thought, but you never know. So the region is not invincible as you may think. The 1991 Gulf war (Desert Storm and Desert Shield) is a good example of what I was talking about...

Yes, but there can be no compromise between the U.S and Iran as long as Ahmadinejad sits in power.

If Obama would have got off his duff and supported the Iranaian people in the democratic election that voted that clown out of office in Iran, we wouldn't be in the current situation. They had no support other than each other and the protests fizzled out. Thanks again Obama for your inability to make a decision.

US money and lives could be better spent in other conflicts around the world. I agree that compromise is the most realistic solution.
