Why has Obama not gone to Arizona to personally take a look at the border situation there?

Wow, the misinformation in here is mind boggling.

I'm IN Arizona, and I've been watching this whole thing unfold.

Jan Brewer made 5 requests and a trip to DC asking for Federal Agents, the trip to DC was to meet Obama face to face. Obama met her, but refused to help. So the bill SB1070 was written and passed. Suddenly, Obama took notice and quickly condemned her.

THEN Obama offers a measly 1200 agents, most of them desk-sitting paper-pushers to "observe", rather than take ANY action against the drug-runners, coyotes and border jumpers. Even if 1200 people were on the border, it would put ONE officer in charge of every 10 miles, which is pointless.

He has been here, but it was brief and was at Phoenix International. 3 hours from the border. Believe me, he didn't see anything he didn't want to see.

So, he has NOT been to the border, and he refuses to acknowledge the problem that we all face here.

If he went down there then he would have to explain the new signs on the border, or should I say miles away from the border, declaring this area unsafe for travel. When else in the United States are there signs warning people not to travel not due to dangerous conditions but do to the alarming danger from illegals and drug dealers. It is reprehensible that the leader of our country can live with himself with those signs still up.

And to Justin, he didn't travel to Arizona, Gov. Brewer went to DC.

Appalling that he made a trip and spoke to Jan Brewer Personally? Have you been in a coma for a few weeks. He's already been there. And is Pushing for reform? Hoe come Jan Brewer hasn't made a trip to DC? At what point is it the presidents job to report to governors? AND BTW, he's been to Arizona

He's not interested in the invasion going on in his own back yard. Besides... Only women are hard wired to multitask.

Sounds like someone has been watching too much Faux, I mean, Fox News. Our President does not need to travel to Arizona to know that "Papers, please" is bad public policy. Anyone with common sense can see that!

We warned America. We said that if marriage equality for law-abiding, taxpaying, gay Americans was taken away by the tyranny of the majority, other groups would be next. Now, it's the Latinos in Arizona in 2010 after Arizona banned marriage equality in 2008. It just goes from bad to worse when we allow those promoting the immoral anti-gay agenda to make our laws. Which group is next?

What is he going to see? Honestly, we know there are a lot of Spanish people in AZ, and yeah, a lot of them are most likely illegal. It's not going to change his mind. The left is outraged over the law, he is in a bind; even some republicans don't like it.

unreal man. its not like there's an issue with oil flooding the east coast or anything. and jeez he should pay attention to the people coming into our country because they are doing more damage than BP. Arizona is more important than anything else and Obama should ignore the other states and drop all of the things he is working on now and fix all the problems the Arizona governor cant fix herself.

Only president in history to sit back and watch state turn against state. In fact what he did with Mexico president Calderon at the White House lawn only PROVES he's the one MAKING IT HAPPEN.

Because he is a coward. We should force him to live along side the border and see how long he lasts.
