There's a group called "toast masters", Google them, they may be able to help you out.

Start by reading Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" -- all the answers you seek are there -- because this is a self-esteem issue.
Acting and public speaking are skills that you can learn from teachers and/or through experience.

take some acting and drama classes to learn how to go about things and get experience working
with and in front of groups of people. take some speech or public speaking classes. keep
going on auditions. as you keep doing things and learning as you go, you should become
more comfortable.
