Okay, so I got monroes. (Angel bites.) Scarring and enamel wear? PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING.?
Okay, so. Tuesday I got my monroes done. (Angel bites.)
And I absolutely LOVE them. I don't WANT to take them out, but I might for like jobs.
(example: I act at a local theater and I know they won't let me audition if I have these in.)
Right now, my upper lip is so swollen. (This is normal?) It's to the point where the bottom is almost in my lip all the way and it burns. They ball on the top(the part you see) is now starting to dip in my skin.
I've heard this is normal the first like week or so.
I've been looking into side effects and I see:
Terrible scarring and tooth enamel and gum wear.
Did I just make the biggest mistake of my life?
Please don't forget, I LOVE this piercings in my face. I don't really want to HAVE to take them out.
Question #1: I'm aware that everyone's skin is different, and they MAY or may NOT scar.
If the scar I get from these angel bites is just a minor darker/lighter mark, I'll use Mederma or Bio Oil to get rid of it in time. What I'm really worried about, is an indentation in my skin. I don't want there to be a huge hole in my face. I'm aware I MIGHT get one. My skin on my face doesn't ever scar though. So I'm not sure. If I do ever take them out, and I'm unhappy with the marks left behind, what are some cosmetic things I can do to fill the hole in, and look normal?
I've thought that MAYBE you could go to a plastic surgery place and get it filled in my collagen?
Or something? Microdermabrasion? Some kind of filler? PLEASE HELP. (If my nose piercing also leaves a hole, which it didn't last time I pierced it, can I do the same thing to this?)
Question #2: I've also read that it caused a TON of damage to your teeth enamel and gums.
I've spent so much money to make my teeth perfect. I don't want any damage.
Right now, my angel bites are healing. And I can't change the pole to a smaller one for another week or so. (Even though, at the moment, I really need a longer one. Lol.)
Blah blah, everyone's different, and I've heard some people do or don't have any damage at all.
So, when it's healed up enough to change it, should I make the pole smaller so it doesn't touch my teeth/gums? And what about making the back of the piercing a plastic one? Right now, it's a flat back.
I've heard those are bad. Chipped teeth and wear. Would a piercer know what I mean when I say I'd like a plastic back? I've heard those don't cause any damage at all.
To help me out, I'd love to see some before and after pictures.
Maybe a story about you piercings and what happened? I'm actually only 14, and I love my face.
But I also love the piercings. Please, please, PLEASE help me out.
I'm getting really scared.
P.S. I'd like to keep them in for a few years. I paid a LOT for these, and I don't want to lose them early.

Hey,
All piercings leave scars, they don't leave holes. They will close when ever you decide to remove and takeout the jewelry. So don't worry about filling it in or plastic surgery, the hole will eventually close when you remove your jewelry from your piercings. It is normal for your piercing to be swollen in the first few weeks. Try doing hot compresses, wet a small towel or napkin with hot water and put it over your piercing. Or try putting ice, when I had my tongue pierced it got very swollen and what helped me a lot was ice cream and frozen popsicles. For the scaring and to make your piercing heal faster wet a q-tip & put a small drop of 100% Tea Tree Oil, trust me this help my nose piercing scar a lot! Yes, any oral piercings cause damage to your teeth and gums, I will recommend to get a plastic or acrylic jewelry and stay away from metal. You should switch to a longer pole since all new piercings get swollen a lot & you deff don't want skin growing over your jewelry! So try going to a shop & getting a longer pole this will help the healing too. Then when it's done healing you can switch to any kind of jewelry you want. Yes a piercer will know what a plastic back is if not you can just point it out (it's usually outside & visible for customer to see) .
If you take good care of your piercings & let them heal there will be no big noticeable scar or indention.

Personally I think snakes bites would look best. The guy is going to be using sterile equipment correct? If you want two piercings, why not spider bites? Not has common has the rest.

Yes, you've made one of the biggest mistakes of your life. Any piercing or tattoo is a big mistake. I can't believe your parents would let you get those. And yes, all the side effects you mention are quite common. Friends of mine have had to get crowns on their teeth because they had piercings that destroyed the enamel on their teeth. Take them out, throw them away, and everything will be back to normal in 6-12 weeks.
