Have you lightened your medium brown hair?

ok so I have medium brown hair it gets a little lighter in the summer but i want it to be dark blond or light brown and i don't want to use bleach becuase i straighten my hair most of the time and I dont want to fry my hair I will most likely dye it back to my natural color after the summer/when my roots start to show. I was wondering if anyone has tried to use box hair dye or something else to lighten your hair at home i really don't want to get it done professionally becuase i dont have alot of extra money but i will prob get it dyed back in a salon becuase ill have more money in a month or two so if anyone has any advise i would appreciate it

as long as your hair is a natural hair with no dye or bleach on it then you can get a lift and deposit color it will make your hair a few shades lighter but it wont make it blonde blonde unless you use bleach. check sallys for a lift and deposit and mix it with the reccomended developer

You could try a color from L'Oreal Paris Excellence Pro-Keratin, it has this serum you put on your hair before the dye so that your hair is protected. Afterwards my hair didn't feel like I had any damage at all.
