Is Danica Patrick the only driver who has run both Indy Car/CART/CCWS/Formula 1 and NASCAR in the same year?
I can't think of another driver that tried to run Indy Cars/CART/CCWS/Formula One AND NASCAR in the same year, except for Danica Patrick. From 1950-1978, the only two racing series were NASCAR and Formula 1, and I know Mario Andretti drove both, but I don't know if he did it in the same year. Do you guys know of any other drivers that has tried to run both the Indy Car/CART/CCWS/Formula 1 season and NASCAR season in the same year?
I THOUGHT I HAD ASKED THIS MUCH EARLIER!!!! But I FORGOT TO SUBMIT IT AFTER I FORGOT TO put additional details! LOL.
I KNOW SHE HASN'T RUN FORMULA 1!!! I should've said open wheel. LOL
And I MEANT THE FULL SEASON IN one series(Indy Car) and PART-TIME in the other series(NASCAR Nationwide Series). Not JUST THE INDY 500 AND THE COCA-COLA 600!

I believe Aj Foyt did both on a limited schedule on the winston cup and full time in the open wheel and yes Mario did both the same year also

I am not sure but would bet that it is because she didn't actually qualify for the Daytona 500 but, rather, got in on driver or car owner points. That is what the big concern is for Tony Stewart with the Sprint Cup races she is running this year. The guy driving her car for all the Sprint races she doesn't run has to keep finishing high enough to get her into her races without having to qualify on speed. She hasn't been able to do that in hardy any Sprint Cup races so far. Maybe none of them. Don't give up on her running the All Star Race yet. If she wants to run in the race, NASCAR will find a way to make it happen, even if they have to change the rules to do it.

Well there is no CART/CCWS (which is the same thing btw) anymore & she has not run a F1 car. But I do believe she is the 1st to run NASCAR & IRL in the same season (not considering when a driver from either series does a 1 off race)

um no, there were guys who drove in NASCAR and IRL in the same day, and that's call the Memorial Day Sunday double, where a guy can race both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Coca 600 which is a total of 1100 miles.

No, Tony Stewart ran Indy and NASCAR in the same season I do believe.
