Is the highway from San Jose, Costa Rica to the coast open?
A friend of mine came back from Costa Rica a few weeks ago and said the new highway is closed (washed out). I am going on Thursday, and I was wondering if it was reopened?

Not yet. The Transportation Minister is supposed to receive reports from the engineers this week. So they may have a plan in place soon.

no yet but you can enjoy the regular way to Puntarenas
Enjoy you trip to Costa Rica, if you rent a car be aware that you dont have to leave it alone with your bags
