Will there even be a Richard Petty Motorsports next year?

All four drivers are at the end of their contracts after 2010. Kahne's leaving for sure. Allmendinger's not showing Petty the love of a loyal driver. Sadler had to fight to stay in his contract. And Menard can take his sponsor wherever he ends up. Given RPM's economy woes and instabillity, will Petty have a team next year. If not, where would his four drivers go?

They may survive....if it was me I would downsize to just 3 cars, let it go at that, from what I have seen teams with 4 cars there is always one that struggles......Hendrick is an example he has had 4 for a while and never have all 4 ran good constistently, Roush, RCR last year ( they all struggled ) and RPM.

Put NEW YOUNG meat behind the wheels , he will get at least 1 driver out of 4 that has what it takes to stay up there with the top 15.Then cull the others for new meat,The odds maybe kinder and give 2 out of 4 and in a short time It will be a strong team and run as a top 5 team. Yes, The PETTY'S will be there for awhile. (in my OPION)

What to do with the drivers .................well, I THINK they will find teams that need car points drivers until they get a HOT STREAK going again.

Well we already know that Kahne will be at Hendrick or at least at one of his satellite teams, I think A.J will stay and take over the equipment that Kahne leaves behind, Elliot will probably stay if they will let him because with his current performance I don't see any of the big teams(Roush, Hendrick, Childress, Gibbs) offering him a ride. Menard will also keep on doin' what he's doing now.

Ive said it before, Kahne is cutting his own throat, as well as Petty's. He is continuing to do what has hindered him for his whole career, car hopping. The other times might not been of his doing, but this time is at his own hand. His current team seem to be gelling very well to be together with Ford for such a short term. But for Kahne all that is out the window after this year.

He might be a rock solid driver, but he is wasting his years away moving from team to team. Here goes another season and a half trying to get in a Chevy and get it all lined out...

As for RPM, well looks like they are actually heading in the right direction, and have some money flowing inwards. They seem to all be getting stronger as the season wears on.

People forget all the times that Kahne has been put into the wall by other drivers such as Gordon at Daytona, and several other accidents that wasn't supposed to be, this season. His cars themselves have been rock solid all year long, thanks to his team and RPM, actually more consistant than the Hendrick cars this year...

They should try to get Labonte back on their team. That may solve 2 problems.
