Does Bobby Labonte deserve a better ride?
Ten years ago this guy was a champion. Now, he's unfairly shifted around from bottom tier team to bottom tier team. I think it's time to give this guy a proper shot.

I may be mistaken, but wasn't Bobby the one who left all his top tier teams? He had a bad season in the 18 car, and asked to be released from his contract to go and drive the 43 car. Then when Petty Enterprises was negotiating a merger with Gillette, Bobby left the team again. Maybe there was a bunch of "behind the scenes" things going on that we didn't know about, but it seems like he put himself in this position. What ever his reasons were, it seems like the 18 car or the 43 car would have been a better option for him. Maybe he should drive the 9 car when Kasey leaves RPM next year.

Unfortunately, it is a cruel and harsh world. It is like that in every career where performance matters. Either your looks go or your skills go. Hey, it even happens in relationships. Bobby was always one of my favorites. I do not know the back room chatter as to why he left his other rides or why he refused the one offered. It is the young, fit and educated drivers that are in demand, As it has been previously stated...if he can find a better ride than what he has had, now is the time to go after it.

Bobby, Was a Champion and and in most opinions.... deserves a better RIDE and TEAM. But I'm with the Guy above me The NEW MEAT is here and Bobby will go into another Field before ALL of his Dignity Is stripped away .IF, he gets another shot, he better find it, and he better be getting after it......SOON!

Yep, he does I think that's why he left Gibbs, because he wanted to run better. For some reason it wasn't happening at Gibbs no more. Unfortunately he can't seem to find a reliable team to drive for.

I agree 100%. Its sad to see him like that. I would like personally that he return to JGR in a 4th team or see if lightning could strike twice & have him return to the #18 & move Kyle to a new 4th team.

He kinda started turning bad about 5 years ago. I don't think that he is good anymore. 10 years is a long time.

I don't think so. he's had his time in the sun, and I now feel he may be washed up for good. I think that most teams, even smaller ones, should be concerned with getting new talent onto the track than some 50 year-old dinosaur who hasn't been worth anything in over 10 years.

It happens. No one stays totally on top their entire career. Thats why I wish drivers would retire after so many years..They could just be advisors or fill ins etc... That way they can say "Heck I was good" and not "heck I was good at one time".

No
His biggest mistake was going to Petty Motorsports after Gibbs. I have also heard that RCR wanted him. He blew it and now it's too late.
