My first recommendation is to get a second opinion from another Doctor. I am an expert in hair loss, and I have no idea why a product from a horse's mane would promote hair growth. For pattern baldness, it is best to stick with what we know works.
Finasteride is a prescription medication (sold as Propecia in the USA) that is a DHT blocker. DHT is the primary cause for male pattern baldness, and is just a hormone our bodies produce naturally (our bodies make more as we age). Finasteride is a fairly potent inhibitor of DHT, and stops hair loss in 9 out of 10 men. About 8 out of 10 men will even regrow hair. The downside is you need a prescription.
The second most effective hair loss treatment is minoxidil. Minoxidil is also a DHT inhibitor, but unlike finasteride, it is a topical solution that you put on your head. It is commonly sold as Rogaine, Kirkland, Provillus, or a generic brand. It works in about 8 out of 10 men, with few side effects. Minoxidil comes in two strengths 5% (best for men) and 2% (best for women).
The third most effective hair loss treatment is natural supplements or vitamins. You need to be careful with these, because a lot of people market them as miracle cures, and they are not. The most effective ones are saw palmetto, vitamin B6, and Biotin. They only work in about 6 out of 10 men, but are a good option if you do not want to take a prescription or mess with putting minoxidil on your head. You can buy them individually, or as a multi-vitamin.
The most important thing to remember in treating your hair loss is to start early. It is much easier to keep what you have!

It's true that some products do cause the hair to be stunted but that will show up immediately (as in couple months), not later in life. Most of these are the oils and waxes that many people use (conditioners). These block the hair follicles, and the hair then has a harder time to get out of the skin. There is not much that can actually stop hair growth, but it can hamper it. For best growth, you want clean hair and scalp. Avoid anything with a lot of oils in it, or waxes. These will leave a thin film on the hair, which makes it slick and smooth and shiny, but is not great for the skin. Some people will get pimples from using it, or itchy scalp. By using a good clarifying shampoo (baking soda works well) and avoiding using the product is the best solution. Some gels and mousses will do the same, but usually are easier to remove. Try not to put these right on the scalp a lot. At 15, you are going to see some loss of hair in the next several years. That is just a normal process of going through puberty. There may be some visible thinness if you are male, not so much for females. There is nothing you can do about it at this point.

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://bitly.im/aMfyF While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

If you hair losing follows a pattern of receding hairline and hair thinning on the crown (hair losing continuous for years), It mean you have male pattern baldness, and this caused by you hormones and genetic predisposition. Your top crown and hairline follicle are genetically weak, your hormones attack your hair follicles and make them shrink with time, resulting in shorter and finer hair. Under this attack, follicles don’t grow new hair.
The treatment for the male pattern baldness is by surgery (hair transplant) or by block your hormones attack. There are two ways approved by FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to block your hormones and make your hair follicles grow new hair:-
1-Taking (Propecia, Proscar) pill: You need prescription from your doctor.
2- Apply Minoxidil directly to the scalp twice a day: There are two products don’t need prescription and contain 5% Minoxidil, Kirkland and Rogaine.
