how can I re-connect with her?

There's this girl i know, she used to have a thing for me long time ago. We still talk from time to time but its been a several months. We go to different colleges now but she lives in my area during the summer. Really our only method of communicating now is facebook What could i say to break the months of silence and perhaps try to get her to hang out to catch up with each other?

Update:

Thanks everyone for the help! I have discovered that her birthday is actually coming up which really helps my cause because i owe her a happy birthday post haha

There's no real strategy to reconnect with someone. Just writing on her Wall just to say hi is enough. If she's nice/ wants to talk to you, she'd reply, and just talk about casual topics. But don't bring up anything from the past until she's comfortable with it. Just get to know her a little better and maybe saying that you kinda miss talking/hanging out with her and maybe you guys can meet up somewhere and catch up. (if she doesn't think it's creepy or anything.) Good luck! :)

Just start talking to her! Ask her how she's been && what she's been doing all this time && if the conversation is good, ask her if she might want to catch up in person sometimes.

I think it's pretty safe to just be like "It's been a while but since you're here wanna chill?" or something like that :P

    Good luck :)

Just try and reconnect with her.At least you're being honest about how you feel. You can only reach out and see how she feels.
