Will the economy recover before we start mining in Afghanistan or because of it?

Everyone has learned that the War in Afghanistan has become (or always was) a war for minerals. The question is since the US Troops have bleed and fought for this, are US companies sending the Minerals Into the US (for manufacturing!!!) going to get 50% access with Afghan companies or is it going to turn into an International Free for all, with International Countries pillaging what they didn't lift a finger to pay for, but which our troops paid for in blood.

The two are independent problems. Since it would take some time to bring the Afghan mines into production, I'll bet on the economy first, if Obama doesn't break it for good.

It's not a war over minerals, moron. The Afghans have been sitting on a fortune and because they're stone age Islamic savages they didn't even know it. The fact that the US has the expertise to discover that the Afghans are sitting on a fortune doesn't mean the US gets said fortune. It won't. The Afghans MIGHT if they are not too incompetent, which they of course are. If anything the Chinese or French will probably figure a way to horn in on it.
