Who shot the moon landing?

If Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon, who shot the footage?

Why do so many people think that a TV camera has to have a guy behind it to work? The camera was attached to the outside of the LM, pointed at the ladder. When Neil Armstrong started descending the ladder, Buzz Aldrin simply flipped a switch inside the LM cabin that turned the camera on. Hey presto: live TV of the first steps on the Moon.

Are you serious? Even an eight-year old could figure this one out. There was a camera attached to the landing module. It filmed Armstrong stepping foot onto the moon. Where do people get this weird idea that someone has to be behind a video camera for it to film? I guess you have never heard of a remote control camera or a tripod before???

I've filmed a few YouTube videos, which were taken with a camera that I had placed on a table. No one was filming me. Does this mean that my videos are a hoax? Because who was filming me?

FYI, you should have asked "Who shot the FIRST moon landing", seeing as how there were SIX manned lunar landings.

Source(s): Common sense and and IQ higher than .0001.

The landing itself was filmed from the inside of the Lunar Lander. Neil going down the ladder (many hours after the landing) was shot by a TV camera mounted on the landing strut.

Camera in a box bolted to the leg of the lander. In a smooth display of high technology, as Armstrong descended the ladder, he pulled a cable which opened the box and turned the camera on. What will they think of next?

You seem like a smart young man... lady... whatever. How would YOU have filmed one of the most important events of the 20th century? Imagine that you worked for NASA and someone came up to you and said, "Bob, we need to broadcast the first step on the Moon. How can we do this?"

Pretend the whole thing is happening in your backyard if you like. Go ahead and use 21st century electronics, like a wireless webcam or even a cell phone.

Then ask yourself if the engineers at NASA are as smart as you are.

It may be difficult to believe but they actually put a lot of planning into the mission, they didn't just rush to the moon and say 'darn theres just no way we can get a photo of the first step on the moon, we should have thought of that before', of all the technical problems they faced taking pics was about the easiest of them.

There is a camera on the lower half of the lander with a wide angle lens and a special lens. Go see its still there.

There was a cell phone attached to the leg of the lunar lander. The pictures were recorded on that!
