What's the best router I can buy for around $50?

I recently moved and bought a Linksys WRT54GS2. I got a Sprint AIRAVE and it would not connect to it. Long story short, found out the router is defective and needs to be replaced.

Last time I went shopping, I saw Linksys has these new Valet models out that are kind of expensive. I don't need wireless N, G will be fine. I'm also a long time Linksys uses and generally like their products and I am familiar with how to set them up.

I need a new one, but there are a lot more models out now that there were last time I went router shopping. Any suggestions? I am a Apple "fanboy" and am open to an Airport Extreme, but they are kind of expensive.

Update:

I forgot to mention, I do have a few devices connecting to it.

Wireless, I have a Blu-Ray player, smartphone, and a MacBook...and if family/friends come over, they may have their smartphones connect too.

Wired, I have a Sprint AIRAVE with one phone connected to it, unless friends/family come over, but it shouldn't see that much use while they're here.

There is no point buying a Wireless-N router unless your laptop/xbox/desktop has a wireless-N receiver. Otherwise it does nothing to speed it up. You're better off buying a high-quality powerful 802.11g/b router than a cheaper, lower-quality N router.

The absolute best performance for a reasonable price is to get this router: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BTL0OA?ie=UTF... and then upgrade it's firmware to DD-WRT using this guide: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page It has QoS, scheduling, Signal Strength Afterburner, etc. With DD-WRT installed it is comparable to $600 corporate routers.

In my honest opinion.. Linksys is the way to go. I've been using linksys for 3+ years. It's never failed for me. you should beable to find a linksys router at any walmart store in the electronics department.

If you can't find a linksys router for about $50 try going to walmart.com you might find one on the online store that can be shipped to a walmart near you, also try target.com bestbuy.com and circuitcity.com
