simulator time for commercial certificate?

I remember a few years ago there was a regulation that allowed 50 hours in an approved simulator to count towards the total time requirement of the commercial certificate. I can't seem to find it anymore, the closest thing I can find is 61.109 (K:1) that allows 2.5 hours, but it appears that only applies to private pilots. For the ATP 50 hours is allowed but it can only count towards the 75 hours of IMC time.

Did this change or am I just missing the requirements?

You missed it (which is easy to do the way the darned regs are written):

FAR 61.129 paragraph (i) allows 50 hours total toward the commercial pilot airplane certificate.

    quote:

"provided the aeronautical experience was obtained from an authorized instructor in a flight simulator or flight training device that represents that class of airplane or powered-lift category and type, if applicable, appropriate to the rating sought"

    In addition:

FAR 61.65 paragraph (h) allows 10 hours toward the instrument rating.

FAR 61.109 paragraph (k) allows 2.5 to 5 hours for the private pilot airplane certificate
