What is a good age difference between siblings?
I have a 14 month old little girl at home. Not sure when we should start trying for another little angel. Just wondering what others out there have to say about it :)

I honestly don't know. I'd say at least 2 years.
My brothers and I have a HUGE gap. Both are older than me. One by 3 years and the other by 13 years. X3

Well I am 16 and I have a sister who is 18, so thats a 2 year difference, and I also have a brother who is 21, so thats a 5 year difference.
I think 2 years is good. I get along with my sister better than my brother, and I think its because she's more the same age range as me. We know all the people in our school and we know eachother's friends and stuff, its easier. With my brother, I don't really know his friends or his life. Its 'cause he's that much older, because when he finished high school, I was just starting it so we were never really on the same page with anything. He lives at home and everything, its not like I think of him as an adult as such, but the age difference is definitely a reason why we don't get along as well as we could .. Its not that we fight, its just that we don't talk much in general. So yeah, don't leave it as big an age difference as 5 years.

I think 3/4 years in between siblings is perfect. I'm 16, my brother is 20, and my sister is 23 and we get along great.
I don't think that if you wait years in between siblings that it will necessarily lead to fighting or separation. Honestly, you can get fighting with any age difference...I disagree with the people who say only 1-2 years...

I would say 2-5 year is good. Im 13 and my sister is 18 and we are a close as you can make two people! Hope you have luck with you next child! :)
Source(s): Me and my sister are 5 years part and we are REALLY tight. - Anonymous1 decade ago
A year and a half apart. If you want more than one child, you're not going to want to have to start raising a kid all over again once your first is already older. I know many parents like that. Once their kid grew older, they refused to start raising another child all over again. Also, that way, your kids could play with each other without there being a major age difference.

My sister and I are 11 years apart and get long perfectly. But my other sister is 13 years older than me and I can't stand her. I think it has more to do with personality than age to be honest.

I think 2-3 years is good. My sister is 5 years older, and when I was a kid, it was kind of annoying, because she'd be past all of the little kid stuff that I wanted to do, and she wouldn't play with me.

I'm 13 and my brother is 28. It doesn't matter, but sometimes I think about how cool it would be if he was a bit younger. I think 2 years is the best, but honestly it doesn't matter.
