They could have tried. Spain had ball possession against Chile and Paraguay yet somehow those teams didn't just stay there watching Spain run circles around them.

Then Germany need to find a way to GET the ball. They focused on the defending and tried to make it go to penalties...

How is a clean sheet parking the bus? Most of the games Spain have played have been pretty much on the opposite side of the field. They defend when they have to, but they don't park the bus. How is that parking the bus? Since when is the other team's failure to attack Spain's parking the bus? GTFO go watch the game

SO what if there are passes? Atleast they capitalized on the passes, and dint let the Germans attack.. Now, if u're bored of passes just becoz Spain never handed the ball to Germany, then I don't think I can tell ya anything man.. Even the German players won't talk such shite..

Parking the bus does not mean keeping the most clean sheets, It refers to a tactic in which all the defenders are reduced to the box and the midfielders play deep. Spain clearly didn't do that.

Germany did play similar to what they did during their demolision of England and Argentina. But the only difference was that German had played against a 4 man English midfield(which was dysfunctional) and a 3 man Argentine midfield. This made counter attacking easier. But Spain had a 5 man midfield so they couldn't get through.

Nevertheless Germany were a great source of entertainment throughout the World Cup.

Villa did not score the goal against Germany, it was Puyol who headed in the goal from a corner kick by Xavi.

Germany had not faced such a tough defense and midfield, Spain has the best midfield in the world so that is why they controlled the game.

I just saw Spain pass the ball around a lot. But the funny thing is, Spain have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 games and people say they don't park the bus.

Germany didn't park the bus but they were ULTRA defensive and forgot to attack until about 12 minutes left...

In the first half Spain took 7 shots on goal with 2 saved by Neuer. Germany had one shot off target.

Second half Spain took 8 shots and 2 saved by Neuer. Germany took 5 shots with one saved by Casillas...

Why couldn't Germany get the ball if they're supposed to be superior to Spain?
