How do I effectively seal a PVC pipe with duct tape.?

I am also threading wires and tubes through the hollow part of the pipe. I am wondering if duct tape will be good enough to seal this inlet. Can anyone offer any other TEMPORARY solutions.

I would like to avoid gluing the whole thing shut because then its permanent.

Seal the seam with a silicon based caulk first before taping - This will create an additional moisture barrier along with the tape and is easily peeled off if needed.
