How do I effectively seal a PVC pipe with duct tape.?

I am also threading wires and tubes through the hollow part of the pipe. I am wondering if duct tape will be good enough to seal this inlet. Can anyone offer any other TEMPORARY solutions.

I would like to avoid gluing the whole thing shut because then its permanent.

It depends on the pressure and fluid you are sealing against. It also depends on how well you can fit the tape in and around the wires and tubes. There will be many voids to seal and that might be difficult.

You might consider using some expanding foam such as Great Stuff that can be purchased at any hardware store.

well duct tape can seal as effectivly as pvc cement and its not permanent so i think duct tape would work fine
