How to contact an unreachable landlord?
My girlfriend and I have just moved in to our first place, and we are having landlord trouble. Our first month of rent was due July 1st, the day that we were allowed to move in. However, our apartment is part of a larger building, and our landlord/the company he works for does not own the whole building. Thus, there needs to be cooperation between the building manager and our landlord. Our landlord needs to pay for our fobs and give permission to the building manager for them to be made.
However, it has been two weeks since we have heard from him, and 8 days since we were scheduled to move in. There have been multiple emails and phone calls, and he has not responded- yet he has cashed our rent check. The phone number he gave us goes straight to voicemail, or rings until it hits voicemail, he is not answering his emails or calling us back, and the address we are sending the checks to is a PO box. He is not even answering the building manager's calls or emails.
How can we get in touch with him? We cannot afford pursuing any legal issues, and I am just unsure of what to do.

i am not sure of what to do either. there should be a way. did you try asking door to door to another tenant if there's any? you can call better business bureau and tell them your situation, i'm sure they will lead you to a person or people or agency or whatever. can you reach the building manager personally so to get the word to the landlord - if you could, make a reasonable complain and set up a date or ultimatum that if there's no action done within a month or so - you will pursue it in court or you will just finish your month that you paid and leave without any problem. and then you have to do what you've said. you might lose some money, but you will have peace of mind on your next apartment and learn a lesson from here.
