RHH: Have you ever actually talked to an emcee?

I made a twitter recently and actually talked to Mr. Lif on it a few weeks ago. I have to say that was pretty dope. Dude is mad nice. And Mac Lethal follows me, haha. So have you ever talked to a rapper, in person or online?

Update:

@ Stew - Lol, I would kind of like to hear that story.

Percee P - I met him outside of a Black Moon show back in the day. He sold me a bootleg of his own CD, which I thought was pretty funny. Nice way to make 100% profit off of your music. We talked for a while, and he's a very humble guy. I met a few heads from Boot Camp Clik at the show too. They all came to support Black Moon and then they jumped into the audience during the show and were giving pounds and love to their fans. The only ones I really talked to for a while was Steele of Smif N Wessun and Supreme of The Representativz. Both really down to earth. Nas was at the show too but I didn't get a chance to even see him. He had some private booth reserved upstairs.

O.G.C. - I know, more Boot Camp Clik heads. I met them at the Myrtle & Broadway train station in Brooklyn at like 3 in the morning. We were all drunk and high, and at first, I thought we were gonna get into a fight or something because I guess I was staring at them but it was only because I recognized one of them, Louiville Sluggah. There was about 10 of them and 3 of us, but we decided to approach them anyway. It did turn out to be them, and a few other random people. They were rollin blunts and drinkin 40s right there on the platform, and they were really really chill. They offered to light us up but we were going separate ways so we didn't smoke with them or really talk for that long. That was a nice experience though, because they just dropped "Da Storm" and they were still taking the train. No limos or any of that. Which rappers would offer to smoke with their fans that they don't even know? I thought that was pretty cool.

Lil Kim - I met her outside of Aaliyah's wake. I actually tried to get her number but her bodyguards were cockblockin like crazy. She looked beautiful in person, but she was really really short. We didn't have a long conversation but she was sweet. I saw a bunch of other people that day too (Mary J Blige, Missy, Timbaland, Babyface, 112, etc.), but I didn't speak with them. And I wasn't trying to be disrespectful since it was Aaliyah's wake, but I worked 2 blocks away from there at the time which is the only reason I was there. I was just trying to get through the crowd to go to work. The whole wake was a mess. Mary J Blige was crying hysterically and almost fell down the front steps of the church, and there were all of these retarded fans cheering and rushing her trying to get autographs.

RZA & ODB - I went with my boy to pick up his girl who worked at Vibe magazine. So we're waiting in his car and she comes outside with RZA and ODB. I tried my best not to act like a stan because I LOVE Wu Tang, and instead I ended up saying like two words the whole time. They gave us pounds and made fun of my boys ride because it was a piece of sh*t, but it was just jokes and they didn't seem arrogant or anything. They were both really funny though. I think they were drunk.

P.Diddy - He came to my job, which was a museum at the time, and I was working the register in the Egyptian section. I rang him up, but I purposely didn't even acknowledge him because I never liked him and I still don't. He looked so full of himself, and I could tell he was just waiting for me to be like OMG Puff Daddy. F*ck that! All of the girls I worked with were on his nuts though.

I'm not sure if I could say that I met an actual emcee. I know the 90s hardcore rapper Mysterme's little brother who is a DJ, I'm not sure if that counts though. This is actually a weird experience, I also met Slick Rick's kid in the Bronx, very very weird story.

EDIT: I was in my friend Patsy's van with 3 other people when he needed to wash his car. But jerk-off Patsy decided to make a trip to a car wash that is a good 40 minutes from our neighborhood to a place around Yankee Stadium because his friend told him about the place and he just had to see it for himself. There was a line of cars in front of the place though so we had to wait. While we were waiting, Patsy's window was open and this 17-18 year old kid came up and asked my friend Patsy "If he goes to Spellman" because on the back of his van there was a bumper sticker that had something like "I am a proud parent of a honor student at Cardinal Spellman High School." Funny thing is that my friend Patsy is not an honor student and never attended Cardinal Spellman. One night when he drunk out of his mind he decided to rip that bumper sticker off of some poor parent's car because he was jealous because his grades suck and he wanted people to think that he was a honor student.

So Patsy says "yea" then he tried to have a conversation with this guy even though he knows nothing about this school. We find out that this guy got kicked out of the school. My friend asked the kid his name and he said "Lil Ricky." So he takes off then we get the car washed. At the end of the wash when the guys are cleaning the car with their filthy towels, this Mexican guy tried to tell us that that kid over there that we just talked to was Slick Rick's son. The thing that sucks about this experience is that my friends didn't give a crap, so I couldn't go back to bug or even piss off the kid by asking him questions about his dad.

    Personally, no.

Online, I've talked (chatted) with Gift of Gab and Reach.

Nothing really personal, just asked em about upcoming projects and about how they got started in the music biz.

I was surprised they even got through to my messages, considering the amount of fans they must have worldwide.

    It was pretty kool.

GOG's probably one of the most intellectual individuals in the Hip-Hop scene.

I've met Shad on a couple occasions, we actually had a round of beers with him one time. One of the friendliest people I've ever met.

I've also met Cunninlynguists, Masta Ace, Brother Ali, and Talib Kweli briefly after shows. Kweli was a bit of a douche though.

I met Paul Wall at the mall once. This was about five years ago when he was at "his peak" of popularity. I went to his shop with a friend, because he wanted a grill lmao (I used to hang out with some stupid people, ha), Paul was there and helped my friend only because the guy that normally helps at the store was on break lmao. He then asked me if I wanted anything (a grill, chain, rings..) and I said I don't have money like that, and he told me to get out of his store! haha, in a more playful way, but still, he told me to get out! haha.

idk if you know who Chingo Bling is, he is the flava flav of TX, I saw him at Church's Chicken once. haha.

Many...in most cases its not good to do this is you really think they are something special...

Met Kweli as well...yes he is a douche...i caught him riffing about lighting on some low rent function in harlem...it wasn't even a serious concert...this was around the time Funny Money came out...

Pharell?? lol...when i met him...he wore a T-Shirt with his face on it...that tells you something right then and there...

50 Cent? A Bit more personal...he's very disrespectful to say the least...

Busta Rhymes....very nice but he is really hood...

Flava Flav....went bowling with him...jackass wore that stupid viking helmet...and was drunk...kept calling my brother Antman...

Co-sign the kid that said Kweli was a douche, I met him at a show like 2 yrs ago and he's not that nice at all.. he has a big ego.

And I met Method Man sometime last March, he was really funny and friendly. :)
