What is a good and affordable SLR camera which you can recommend?

I really want to buy myself a camera but I am really stumped as to which one. Canon, Olympus, and Nikon slrs seem promising but I really can choose. Any help is appreciated!

Superb photos and a solid build.  I don't know what "affordable" means to you but this is a very good price for an SLR and results like this.
