What is wrong with my new built computer?

I just got my brand new graphic card yesterday. It's a EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 240. I pushed it into the PCI-E 2.0 slot, then turn it on. Every componet was on for a few seconds, then everything shuts down. The machine restarts again, without me pressing the power button, the same thing happens. The third time it starts, the machine successfully start, but the graphic card doesn't start with it. No fan, no heating up. Just all the fans starting up in the machine. The chassis, the CPU, the one in the PSU. Can anyone tell me what exactly is wrong with my new built computer? The motherboard, or is it something else. I'm pretty sure the CPU isn't having a problem. The graphic card does not have a separate power supply. And I've tried 6 different graphic cards from my friends. No luck. Please help!

Mobo: ASUS P6T

CPU: Intel i7

PSU: SilverStone OP 650 (650W)

P.S. Please do not tell me to reset the BIOS, CMOS, or put in a installation driver or anything involving using the monitor. For your information, It's a NEW BUILT, not something I bought off the shelf! I've gotten responses like "Bring the computer back to the builder". Dudes! I built it!

Should I just go to a repair shop, and let them check what's wrong?

I spoke back your different question yet now I see which you do get a front led illuminate and flow off. if that's the ability led it is going to proceed to exist. in the journey that your laptop case isn't open i could propose which you go away it open till the subject is resolved. Does the motherboard led illuminate and stay lit? Do the followers proceed spinning or decelerate and end? Are you specific the motherboard isn't shorting out? Is the heatsink and cpu fan secured tightly to the cpu? Did you utilize the correct quantity of thermal compound on the heatsink? The jumper settings are production facility set to a default which could artwork in only about each subject. you could evaluation the motherboard instruction manual to be sure the jumper settings are set perfect. I had one motherboard that if the ability furnish replaced into grew to become off or unplugged, while i could turn the laptop on it may start up for some seconds and then turn off. i could could restart the laptop a 2d time to get the beep code and a good start up. This in basic terms got here approximately it the ability furnish itself have been grew to become off. good success

im no expert but the first thing i can think of is to make sure your motherboard supports the video card, next i would think there is something wrong with the motherboard but you say its new so shouldnt be anything wrong with it.how big is your psu?maybe not enough power,im just guessing here.

the problem is that the pc is set in the bios to run with the on-board graphics

you should have run the pc without the new graphic card first & loaded drivers for new card then set in bios to run with new card then stop pc put in new card .

as it stands now i doubt if running without new card will make any difference you will have to take to teckie to get it fixed

Yea, go to a local...if you don't know what you are doing, dont do it. Don't replace any parts, it might just be a simple problem that an expert can fix in a second:)
