I would like to add another bird to the family....?

I have a beautiful sun conure, she loves everyone, anyone can hold her, she is just awesome. I was wondering if anyone has any idea of another kind of bird w/ a similar personality. Not for the same cage or anything, but one that is just as friendly w/ everyone, not a one person bird. I would love an african grey, but I know they are very one person birds. I would like one that the whole family could enjoy. any suggestions are welcome...thanks for your time

The one-person bird is a myth, especially in reference to African greys. I have seven greys, and only one is such a bird. I don't think he would be that way if I could get someone else to hold him, but people don't like getting bitten. I have another grey who is just a no-person bird, but I've been working with her, and I have every reason to expect that eventually she will sweeten up.

My friend and I have done some educational shows at schools with our greys, and all were fine being around all those kids and adults. Two of them sat on the shoulders of thirty-five second-graders for pictures.

To answer you question, I'm particularly fond of Timneh's for their temperament and size. I also like Senegals, and others from their family, the Poicephalus.

african greys are not one person birds and are onlky one person birds if not held by all family members. i have a male african grey called Pluto and he goes to everyone my uncle also has a african grey but only he and his son holds him so now the bird only trusts my uncle and noone else and will bite everyone except from my uncle. female african greys are however more vicious than male ones mine is more like a baby angel.

You seem to be doing very well with the little Sun conure. Why not just get another of the same your little conure will be delighted and very grateful.
