Problem after cleaning heads on HP Photosmart printer?
My mother cleaned the heads on her HP Photosmart printer, and now it's printing very strangely colored pictures. They almost look like negatives of photos, instead of actual photos. She installed new ink cartridges, but that didn't change anything. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is? Thanks!

Is it possible that the heads are/were still damp? This would cause the colors to bleed.
The heads could also have become out of alignment. This maybe difficult to correct if they were 'moved' more than the calibration can correct them.
Can't help more than this except to say, never tamper with the heads of a printer.

Had my HP 4080 for over two years - use it constantly - never seen a reason to clean the heads. It still prints both text and images as clearly as it did when it was new.
Seems your mother might have screwed up her printer and she needs to get it checked out
